The reggister form to enter at the seed zone in Malargüe (Mendoza, Argentina), of two lots of potatoe´s seeds, motiveted a Sanitary inspection. The cv. Spunta´s seed, fundation category, comes from Tafí del Valle (Tucuman, Argentina). They were put on study in order to check the symptoma-tology, anatomy pathology, and micologics. The study was made throgh a paraffin inclusion, microtome´s cuts, and different stains techniques, description and identification of the causal organism. The more frecuent symptoms wich were observed were the presence of open circular pustules from 0,5 to 4 mm of diameter. Brown-red coloured powdery contents were observed. In the afected tissues necrosis and destroyed cells with an oval and spherical sorus between the vegetal remainders were observed at the central and external part of the injury. Hyperplasy and hypertrophy have been observed in the adyacent cells not touched by the pathogen. Inside some, there was one or more sorus with polyedric\'s zoosporangios with wide walls. The final diagnostyc was the presence of Spongospora subterranea (Wallr.) Lagerh. f. sp. Subterranea Tomlison. That, was the reason why the potato seed was officialy destroyed.
